The brother-sister team of 12-year-old Garrett Jacobs and 14-year-old Makayla, from Lemitar, New Mexico hang out with their horse Jody, after competing in the ribbon roping competition at Red Rock State Park in Gallup, New Mexico.  They travel to roughly 50-60 rodeos a year.

Here are two photos from a story about a soldier, Air Force Sr. Airman Michael Malarsie who was blinded in an IED attack in January  while in Afghanistan.  He’s now engaged to the widow of a soldier killed in the same attack.  Pictured is Michael with his fiance Jesse Lengstorf.

Former world champion Johnny Tapia is a hometown hero here in Albuquerque who has battled his demons outside of the ring with drug addiction which eventually put him in Jail and forced him to put boxing on hold for now.  Today he is serving a one year sentence at the Los Lunas Correctional facility.

Virgen de Guadalupe Day

The Virgen de Guadalupe day was an event I went to shoot for myself. I mixed digital images and medium format black and white still to make a Soundlslide project. The squarish images were shot on a Hasselblad Kodak Tri-X 320 speed film and scanned on a Nikon Super Coolscan 9000.
